Message

As we kick off our activities in 2011, we look back in the spirit of thanksgiving at the many milestones that have been achieved in the past 18 years which placed the Child Life Program of Kythe in 11 key hospitals around the country. Truly, we recognize the efforts and dedication of the Kythe Core Team and our kindred spirits - all the energetic volunteers, generous donors and equally important, our committed partners in the hospitals. We cannot thank them enough. Without them, Kythe will not be where it is today and nowhere near its compelling vision to be of service in 20 government hospitals on its 20th anniversary in 2012!

Indeed, so much has been achieved and yet so much remains to be done to get to 20-20-2012 and beyond. While the challenge in the years ahead seems overwhelming, we are also confident that by closely partnering with our stakeholders, we will achieve our goals at the time of our choosing. We believe that to get to our destination, we take the journey one day at a time, one child at a time and one hospital at a time – and always with our partners. There is no better way.

In our exciting journey forward, we recognize that the strength of our partnerships can only be as intense as our individual passion to serve these children and their families. We know that without our individual passion, collectively, we will not go very far. Mother Theresa once said that "it is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving". We believe that all stakeholders who support Kythe have received a gift to serve others. In the coming days, we hope that all stakeholders will have the opportunity to reflect and deepen our passion to care for others because our purpose is higher and bigger than all of us.
